Romans and their Beards

Did you know that in Ancient Rome, a man’s beard style represented what philosophical school he was from?

Three Greek philosophers in 155 BC were invited to Rome to present their philosophical ideas and thoughts, and the Roman audience couldn’t help but notice that each of them was sporting their own distinct beard.

This is where the term “philosopher’s beard” comes from.
